Today, Dr. Alaa Farouk, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Engineer Sherif El-Sharbin, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting at the Ministry of Housing to discuss a range of joint topics and explore ways to enhance collaboration between their ministries.
The meeting was attended by officials from both ministries, the New Urban Communities Authority, the General Authority for Urban Planning, and the Desert Research Center.
During the meeting, the ministers reviewed the progress of the urban boundary updating plan, which is being implemented by the General Authority for Urban Planning, an affiliate of the Ministry of Housing. They also discussed the status of public utility projects and some of the wastewater treatment projects being carried out by the Executive Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitary Drainage, an agency under the Ministry of Housing. Additionally, they focused on maximizing the use of treated water for agricultural and other designated purposes, adhering to international standards.
Both ministers emphasized the need for continued collaboration and coordination between their ministries and affiliated entities to ensure the country’s development and the delivery of high-quality services to citizens. They agreed that this effort aligns with the extensive urban renaissance taking place in Egypt under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
