Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, inspected the progress of the construction and operational phases of the Heritage City in New Alamein. He was accompanied by Dr. Abdel Khaleq Ibrahim, Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs; Engineer Amin Ghoniem, Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for Development and City Upgrades; Engineer Ahmed Ibrahim, Head of the New Alamein City Authority; and other officials from the ministry and the technical office.
The minister emphasized the urgency of completing the remaining structures in Heritage City, calling for increased labor and equipment on-site, along with continuous monitoring of progress to expedite the work. He directed the Head of New Alamein City to give construction companies a one-week deadline to demonstrate commitment to the project. Failure to comply will result in the termination of their contracts and reassignment to more serious contractors.
Heritage City, spanning 260 acres, features approximately 70 buildings, including key landmarks such as the main lake, central square and commercial spaces, exhibition grounds, a mosque, a church, a Roman theater, a conference hall, commercial and hotel buildings, the Old Quarter, and a cinema complex.
