Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held an extensive meeting on Monday evening at the ministry headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting involved representatives from companies working on the development of the “Greatest Transcendence” project in Saint Catherine, following his inspection visit to the site. Senior ministry officials, the Central Agency for Reconstruction, and project consultants also attended.

During the meeting, Minister El-Sherbiny reviewed detailed timelines for each contractor involved in the project. He emphasized the importance of increasing workforce and machinery, accelerating implementation rates, and adhering to strict schedules. He also stressed the need for seamless coordination between all parties to ensure the swift completion of the project.
A Unique Global Site
The “Greatest Transcendence” project is under the direct supervision of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The initiative aims to develop this unique and sacred site, where it is believed that God Almighty manifested Himself, transforming it into a global destination for visitors. The project prioritizes environmental preservation, balanced development, and the protection of the area’s natural and cultural heritage.

The project encompasses numerous developments, including:
- Visitor Center
- Peace Plaza and Building
- Redevelopment of Wadi El-Deir
- New and Upgraded Eco-Lodges
- Mountain Hotel and Cliffside Resort
- VIP Lounge and Tourist Bazaars
- Residential and Governmental Complexes
- Social Club and Bedouin Housing Development
- Heritage Village and Tourist Walkways
- Flood Risk Mitigation Measures
- Infrastructure, including roads, electricity, and water supply enhancements
Spiritual and Tourism Vision
Managed by the Central Agency for Reconstruction and funded by the New Urban Communities Authority, the project aims to establish a spiritual haven in the sacred mountains surrounding the Holy Valley. Saint Catherine, located in South Sinai amidst iconic peaks like Mount Moses and Mount Catherine, is home to the historic Saint Catherine Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries worldwide.
This initiative seeks to promote spiritual, mountain, and wellness tourism, complementing the area’s natural beauty and historic significance. It also aims to enhance connectivity between Saint Catherine and neighboring coastal regions, including Tor, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Dahab, ensuring a comprehensive and sustainable tourism experience.
