Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted a site visit to assess the progress of several key projects in 10th of Ramadan City. The visit included inspecting the units under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” for low and moderate-income brackets, the second phase of the water treatment plant, and the upgrading of industrial areas.
Accompanied by Eng. Amin Ghoniem, Deputy Head of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for Development and Urban Planning, Eng. Alaa Abdel-Latif Mustafa, Head of the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority, and other NUCA officials, as well as members of the Minister’s technical office, El-Sherbini reviewed various projects in the city.
Inspection of Housing Projects
The Minister toured the construction sites of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative in the New Zagazig district, which features 2,130 housing units across 109 buildings, and the Regional Services Area with 1,842 units in 90 buildings. Additionally, he visited the ongoing development of 1,632 units in 68 buildings as part of the moderate-income housing segment of the initiative. El-Sherbini urged for accelerated construction to ensure the highest quality standards and timely delivery of the housing units to beneficiaries.
Water Treatment Plant Phase II
El-Sherbini also reviewed the second phase of the water treatment plant in 10th of Ramadan City, which has a capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per day, bringing the total capacity to 1.2 million cubic meters per day. The plant serves several areas, including residential zones, industrial areas in 10th of Ramadan City, Madinaty, Al-Shorouk City, the Leather City, the Southern Developers Area, Pumping Station (5) in Badr City, and the New Administrative Capital. The Minister emphasized the need to expedite the completion of this phase.
Industrial Area Upgrades
In the industrial area of 10th of Ramadan City, El-Sherbini inspected the ongoing improvements to roads and the replacement and reinforcement of water and sewage networks. He directed the establishment of specific timelines for completing these works. He also reviewed the development of industrial land for various activities in the southern and western parts of the city.
Development in Al Obour City
El-Sherbini further inspected Youth Street in Al Obour City, accompanied by Eng. Ahmed Rashad, Head of Al Obour City Authority. The Minister called for the rapid development of the buffer zone along Youth Street, specifically in the industrial area (B&C), with a length of 1.5 kilometers. This area is to be utilized for creating environmentally-friendly exhibition spaces and retail outlets that are modular and uniform in appearance to maintain a harmonious urban aesthetic.
