Refund of Reservation Fees for Unsuccessful Applicants in the Masaken Lottery

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced that the refund process has begun for applicants on the Masaken platform who were unsuccessful in obtaining housing units or land plots during the public lottery. The refunds will be processed using the same payment method in collaboration with Fawry Dahab and the Housing and Development Bank.

Dr. Hassan El-Shorbagi, Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority, confirmed that the refund process for reservation fees is underway for customers who did not secure a unit or land plot in the public lottery. The lottery included 8,521 land plots and 6,575 housing units. The refund process commenced on March 6, 2025, and will continue for 10 days. So far, 21,500 applicants who paid via Visa Card have received their refunds, while those who made payments through bank transfers will start receiving their refunds from March 11.

El-Shorbagi emphasized that the authority is working diligently to process all refunds quickly to maintain customer trust. He also wished applicants better chances in securing a land plot or housing unit in future lotteries.
