Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing and Urban Communities, met with Mr. Kimoko Diakite, Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal in Cairo, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation in the fields of housing and urban development.
During the meeting, Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s interest in consolidating relations with African countries, affirming Egypt’s keenness to provide various forms of support to the continent. He explained that Egypt possesses significant capabilities in the field of urban development and is ready to share its expertise with African sister countries to help advance their projects.

The discussions addressed how to develop cooperation between the two countries in the sectors of housing, infrastructure, and new cities, as well as the establishment of water and sanitation networks. The Minister stressed that Egyptian companies are distinguished by their extensive experience in implementing major projects across the continent, which opens the door to expanding cooperation between Egypt and Senegal.
For his part, Ambassador Kimoko Diakite expressed his appreciation for the strong relations that bind Senegal and Egypt, praising Egypt’s efforts to support African countries. He also confirmed his country’s desire to benefit from Egypt’s expertise in housing and infrastructure to achieve sustainable development in Senegal.
