Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced ongoing progress in land utility services and infrastructure development in the expansion areas of New Sohag City. This includes the enhancement of services and development projects across the city.
The minister confirmed the approval for the implementation of low and medium voltage electricity networks and street lighting in the 735-acre expansion area, aiming to increase services and accelerate the city’s development.
In parallel, Engineer Sherif Abdel-Badie, Head of the New Sohag City Development Authority, oversaw the paving of the road leading to social housing units in the 735-acre area, ensuring compliance with technical specifications. He also supervised the maintenance of manholes and installation of covers in the 127-acre distinguished housing area to prevent accidents and blockages.
Abdel-Badie inspected ongoing maintenance and street lighting in the 138-building social housing area and visited the administrative building and technological center. The center’s expansion will provide better waiting facilities for service seekers, increase service counters for faster processing, and introduce an automated waiting system for improved organization and transparency. Additionally, a dedicated office for major investors will be established to support investment in the city.
He also visited the area surrounding the newly opened Ibad Al-Rahman Mosque, a 700-square-meter facility that includes a women’s prayer hall and a Quran memorization room. The mosque was built through local community efforts.
Abdel-Badie emphasized that these developments are part of ongoing efforts to grow New Sohag City, attract residents, and enhance its infrastructure and services.
