Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbini is coordinating with officials from the New Urban Communities Authority regarding the compensation for landowners whose properties were expropriated in Al-Salam II District. This initiative is part of the “Together” project aimed at developing informal settlements in the area, in line with directives from political leadership.
To facilitate this process, Eng. Amin Ghoneim, Deputy Head of the New Urban Communities Authority for Development and Urban Planning, and Eng. Mona Al-Batrawy, Deputy Governor of Cairo for the Eastern Region, held a joint meeting to discuss compensation mechanisms and simplify procedures for allocating alternative plots of land in new cities, including Al-Obour, New Al-Obour, and Al-Shorouk.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Eng. Ahmed Imran, Assistant to the Deputy Head of the Authority, Eng. Ilham El-Sarjani, Head of the Central Administration for Urban Development, Dr. Ahmed Amara, General Manager of Contracts and Assistant to the Minister, and other relevant representatives.
Eng. Ghoneim emphasized that the meeting is part of ongoing efforts to coordinate between the authority and the governorate, reviewing the final status of cases where allocation procedures have been completed, discussing the remaining expropriated plots, and outlining compensation methods and alternatives in collaboration with concerned entities. He urged swift action to finalize the allocation procedures for plots that have been agreed upon.
