Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, oversaw a segment of infrastructure development projects to develop the quality of services provided to citizens in Sadat City, located in Menoufia Governorate. The projects included ongoing work on a new water purification plant, which will significantly address the growing demand for clean water, development efforts along the city’s central axis to optimize land use and facilitate traffic flow, and improvements to the sewage system.

Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the urgency of completing the ongoing projects, particularly in the water and sewage systems sectors. He also stressed the importance of expediting the launch of new projects while adhering to the highest quality and technical specifications to ensure that citizens can benefit from these vital developments as quickly as possible.
Inspection Tour by the Head of Sadat City Authority
In a related context, Engineer Yasser Abdel Halim Hassan, Head of the Sadat City Development Authority, conducted an inspection tour that included a visit to the new water purification plant. The current phase of the plant involves investments amounting to approximately EGP 988 million. This project is among the most significant developments in the city. In its initial phase, the plant aims to produce 87,500 cubic meters of purified water per day, with plans to increase output to 350,000 cubic meters per day upon completion of all phases.
He further explained that 70% of the raw water pipelines have been completed, measuring 1,500 mm in diameter and extending 40 km. These pipelines will supply the purification plant. This project reflects the authority’s commitment to providing high-quality, clean water for Sadat City’s residents.
Central Axis Development
The Head of the Sadat City Authority also reviewed ongoing efforts to develop and expand the city’s central axis. To date, 5.2 km of the axis has been upgraded and constructed, with a 12-meter-wide main lane and a 6.5-meter-wide service lane in each direction. An additional 1.5 km is expected to be completed within three months.
He affirmed that the central axis development is part of the broader infrastructure enhancement plan for the city. This initiative will also increase the value of real estate properties, create new investment opportunities, and strengthen Sadat City’s position as an attractive destination for both investment and residence, aligning with sustainable development goals.
Addressing Challenges in the Sewage Sector
During the tour, the Head of the Sadat City Authority also monitored the progress of sewage system improvements. He emphasized the requirement for comprehensive solutions to address the challenges facing this critical sector in the city.
