Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, received Port Said Governor Major General Mohab Habashi at the ministry headquarters to review the governorate’s readiness for the upcoming rainy season. The meeting was attended by officials from the ministry and relevant authorities.
The minister welcomed the Port Said Governor, praising the ongoing cooperation between the ministry and the governorate across various sectors, and reaffirmed his full support for implementing water, wastewater, and housing projects to meet citizens’ needs.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the governorate’s plan to manage heavy rainfall resulting from climate change. The minister emphasized the importance of strengthening the wastewater network in the governorate and setting rapid-response plans for emergency situations. He also instructed officials to review wastewater systems, pumping stations, and rain drainage networks to ensure immediate and effective solutions.
For his part, the Governor thanked the Ministry of Housing for its continuous support to the governorate and its prompt response to its needs. He also praised the efforts of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater in managing the recent rainfall crisis, expressing his desire to benefit further from the ministry’s expertise in this field.
