Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, conducted a field inspection of utility projects in New Obour City. These projects include the implementation of drinking water and sewage pipelines, an electrical substation, and road projects. The minister emphasized the importance of regular monitoring, delivering legalized plots promptly, and accelerating the legal settlement process to ensure both legal and social stability. He was accompanied during the tour by Engineer Ahmed Omran and a team of senior officials from the city authority.
The inspection tour included the ongoing construction of the Obour 6 electrical substation, which aims to improve the efficiency of power supply to the area. The minister also examined water and sewage infrastructure projects, including two major sewage pipelines with a diameter of 700 mm and a total length of 8 km, as well as a main water pipeline measuring 1200 mm in diameter and 6 km in length.
Additionally, the tour covered inspection of water and sewage networks in Neighborhoods 2, 3, and 10 within District 17, as well as the R4 Road, which stretches for 10.5 km. Ministry officials stressed the importance of adhering to project timelines, especially with regards to delivering plots to citizens. District 17’s neighborhoods include land parcels ranging in size from 350 to 500 square meters, and utility work is currently being finalized in these areas.
