Following his meeting with the officials of the companies implementing the Tellel Al-Fustat Gardens project in Old Cairo, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the progress of several components of the project. He was accompanied by the Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, along with officials from the Ministry of Housing and the executing companies.
The tour included a visit to the investment zone and the arena project. The investment area spans 131,000 square meters, overlooking Ain Al-Hayat Lake. It comprises 12 restaurants, 4 commercial malls, and 4 parking garages. Behind this zone lies a large space designated for hosting major events, which includes a Roman-style theater, a water fountain, and an adventure area featuring several service buildings, lakes, and landscaped areas.
During the tour, the Minister directed the intensification of work on green spaces and the maintenance of existing plantings, emphasizing the need to enhance the irrigation system. He also highlighted the importance of accelerating the construction pace, ensuring regular removal of site debris, increasing the workforce, and implementing shift work schedules around the clock. The Minister stressed the necessity of taking immediate action against underperforming companies to ensure the project is completed within the set deadlines.
