Minister of Housing Inspects Progress of “Housing for All Egyptians” Initiative Across New Cities

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the progress of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians” in several new cities, including New Beni Suef, Hadayek Al-Asimah, New Minya, and New Borg El-Arab. The inspections aimed to ensure adherence to project timelines and deliver housing units to beneficiaries with the required quality and speed.

Accelerating Project Execution

The Minister emphasized the need for field monitoring of ongoing works and urged contractors to review project contracts at every phase. He also called for increased manpower and equipment to expedite the completion of housing units, particularly those within the initiative.

Updates from Key Cities

  1. New Beni Suef:
    Engineer Ahmed Abdel Gawad, Head of the New Beni Suef City Authority, inspected mid-income housing projects under the initiative. Accompanied by his team, he monitored finishing works and directed contractors to adhere to the project schedule. Additionally, ongoing geological surveys were conducted for constructing 84 buildings.
  2. Hadayek Al-Asimah (Capital Gardens):
    Engineer Ammar Mandour, Head of the Capital Gardens City Authority, reviewed infrastructure, roadworks, and housing projects targeting low- and middle-income families. He also inspected the green housing project, which incorporates eco-friendly materials and renewable energy solutions, including solar panels that reduce electricity consumption by 20%. The project promotes sustainable practices like gray water recycling for irrigation.
  3. New Minya:
    Engineer Ahmed Mohamed Mostafa, Head of the New Minya City Authority, assessed utility installations and medium-voltage electricity networks. He directed teams to complete groundwork and begin road construction to facilitate project completion.
  4. New Borg El-Arab:
    Engineer Hemam, Head of the New Borg El-Arab City Authority, oversaw development in the “Housing for All Egyptians” area in District 9. He stressed the importance of meeting contractual standards and inspected landscaping along the university corridor and access roads.
