In line with the state’s commitment to closely monitor the implementation of housing and service projects on the ground, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted an inspection tour in the city of Hadayek October. The visit aimed to assess the progress of construction work on units within the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians,” as well as to evaluate the operation and maintenance status of the city’s wastewater treatment station. This visit follows a series of inspections conducted in New October City. The Minister was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Housing, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the head of the Hadayek October City Development Authority.
During the tour, the Minister reviewed the execution status of residential units within the presidential initiative, which targets middle-income citizens in Hadayek October. The project involves the construction of 5,256 housing units spread across 219 buildings, with unit sizes varying between 100, 110, and 120 square meters. This initiative is part of the state’s broader effort to provide suitable housing for this segment of society within fourth-generation cities.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of adhering to the set timelines for delivering the units and accompanying services. He also highlighted the necessity of implementing site landscaping and infrastructure works according to the highest standards of quality and agreed technical specifications. The Minister stressed that delivering the units to eligible citizens on schedule is a top priority, in alignment with the directives of the political leadership, which aim to ensure a dignified life and a safe, integrated living environment for all citizens in new urban communities.
The Minister also visited the “Mokawloon 4” sewage pumping station in the “Ebny Beitak 7” area, which serves several neighborhoods in Hadayek October. There, he examined the station’s operation mechanism and listened to a detailed briefing on its capacity and its critical role in delivering wastewater services to surrounding areas. He underscored the importance of routine maintenance and ensuring the station’s operation in accordance with standard performance metrics to maintain its efficiency and functionality.
He further pointed out the necessity of applying occupational safety and health standards within the station to preserve the quality and sustainability of services provided to residents. This is especially vital as the city continues to expand and its population density increases.
This tour falls within the Ministry of Housing’s comprehensive plan to follow up on national projects currently underway. The aim is to ensure that the goals of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative are fully realized by delivering high-quality housing units that meet appropriate standards. These efforts reinforce the state’s vision for sustainable urban development and support the goals of the “New Republic,” which promises suitable housing for every citizen.
