Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, concluded his inspection tour on Monday at the “Fustat Hills Gardens” project in the Old Cairo district of Cairo Governorate. The visit aimed to follow up on the progress of the project, which lies adjacent to prominent landmarks such as the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, Ain Al-Sira Lake, the Religions Complex, and Amr Ibn Al-As Mosque. The minister was accompanied during the tour by the Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, in addition to officials from the Ministry of Housing and representatives of the implementing companies.
Investment Zone Overlooking Ain Al-Hayat Lake
The tour began with a visit to the investment zone within the project, which extends over an area of 131,000 square meters overlooking Ain Al-Hayat Lake. This zone includes:

It also features a large space designated for major events and celebrations, including a Roman theater, a musical fountain, landscaping facilities, and an adventure zone that contains service buildings, lakes, and green areas.
During the tour, the minister stressed the importance of expanding green spaces, maintaining planted areas, and enhancing the irrigation system.
Hills Zone and Project Highlights
The minister also inspected the hills area, which has been divided into three hills of varying elevations separated by the watercourse known as “The River.” This area was designed so that the hilltops provide panoramic views of the project and surrounding landmarks, including the Citadel of Saladin and even the Pyramids.

Al-Qasaba Hill (13,000 square meters): includes a tourist hotel, service buildings, parking areas, an artificial lake, stepped terraces overlooking a waterfall, a pedestrian bridge, and a cafeteria.

Excavation Hill: currently under development to uncover and restore the remains of the ancient city of Fustat. This area spans around 47 feddans (≈197,000 sqm) and will feature a 1 km-long walkway elevated 1.5 meters above ground, separating the excavation zone from the archaeological city, and connecting the touristic service buildings with the master site.

Heritage Gardens Hill: includes facilities such as visitor terraces, restaurants, walkways overlooking the lake, and various themed gardens.

At the end of the tour, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini emphasized the importance of accelerating the pace of work to complete the project according to the approved schedule. He stressed the need for:
