Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, and Major General Tarek Hamed El-Shazly, Governor of Suez, inspected the Free Housing Project and the site of the “Diarna” Project in New Suez City to follow up on the progress of work. They were accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Housing, the Governorate, and the New Urban Communities Authority. During the tour, the minister and governor reviewed the Free Housing Project, which is nearing completion and comes as part of the initiative to offer 400,000 residential units in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny listened to a briefing from Engineer Asmaa Makhlouf about the Free Housing Project, which includes 86 buildings and 2,064 residential units, each with an area of 90 square meters. The project is situated on 142 acres near service and tourist areas, including the national university and the Red Sea beach. The Minister also inspected the implementation of the 30 km road network, in addition to the water, sewage, and irrigation networks. These include a 20 km potable and firefighting water network, an 8 km irrigation network, and a 9.8 km sewage network.
The Minister of Housing and his accompanying delegation also inspected service projects, including the commercial market project which consists of 8 shops, a basic education school with 33 classrooms, and a nursery. Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny also visited the site of the “Diarna” Project, which comprises 30 buildings. He stressed the need to accelerate the work pace and directed the compression of construction schedules, the installation of guidance signs, and increased efforts in landscaping, taking into account the needs of people with disabilities. He also emphasized the need to swiftly complete road works in New Suez City.
