Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, conducted an inspection visit to the Saint Catherine Electricity Substation and the Saint Catherine Airport Road—Nabi Saleh Checkpoint projects. This visit is part of the development project for the “Great Transfiguration” site in Saint Catherine. Several officials from the ministry, including the Central Agency for Reconstruction and project stakeholders, accompanied him.
The Minister of Housing and several officials toured the new Saint Catherine Electricity Substation site, which operates at (220/22/22 kV) with a capacity of (7502 MVA). The substation will supply power to various components of the “Great Transfiguration” site development project. The minister emphasized the need to accelerate site coordination efforts and complete all remaining works as soon as possible.
The minister also inspected the Saint Catherine Airport Road – Nabi Saleh Checkpoint project, reviewing the work progress on the checkpoint building and the road. He stressed the importance of paying attention to the road’s islands and landscape coordination while urging the completion of the checkpoint building as soon as possible. Additionally, he followed up on the status of electricity works and the necessary supplies for the project.
Furthermore, the minister reviewed the ongoing works related to the development, efficiency enhancement, and flood risk protection of the Saint Catherine Airport Road, which extends to the Nabi Saleh Checkpoint and has a length of 9 km and a width of 12.8 meters.
