Increasing Reliance on Local Products in Implementing “Decent Life” Projects

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the status of projects being implemented by the ministry as part of the presidential “Decent Life” initiative to develop the Egyptian countryside.

The minister emphasized the importance of continuously monitoring various projects, including drinking water, sanitation, and service facilities, stressing the need to overcome any obstacles hindering progress.

Minister of Housing: Increasing Reliance on Local Products in Implementing "Decent Life" Projects

El-Sherbiny pointed out that the ministry is working to implement the political leadership’s directives to increase reliance on locally manufactured products in project implementation. He stated that all entities affiliated with the ministry participating in the “Decent Life” projects have been instructed to prioritize local products while adhering to the set timeline for project completion.

He also highlighted the importance of identifying all needs and maintaining existing projects to preserve them. Additionally, he directed the intensification of plans and operations and the close monitoring of ongoing projects in the fields of water, sanitation, and infrastructure. The focus remains on tracking completion rates to ensure timely delivery and activation of these projects, ultimately benefiting the residents of the targeted villages.
