Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, inaugurated the Cultural Center in New Cairo at the First Settlement Services Center, adding a new hub for cultural and community services. The opening was attended by Dr. Mohamed El-Wahsh, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the City’s Board of Trustees, along with officials from the Ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority.
The Minister toured the center’s facilities, emphasizing the Ministry’s commitment to implementing projects that serve residents and enhance community awareness, making New Cairo a destination for cultural and artistic activities. Dr. Mohamed El-Wahsh highlighted that the opening of the center was made possible through cooperation between the Board of Trustees and the City Authority to support cultural and artistic initiatives.
El-Wahsh also explained that previously launched activities—such as drawing, music, reading, and Quran recitation competitions—will continue, with future plans to introduce documentary film screenings on Egyptian civilization. The center will also provide books in collaboration with the Misr Library to encourage students to read.
The Cultural Center covers an area of 3,631 square meters and includes meeting halls, administrative offices, a reception area, green spaces, parking lots, and security rooms, all featuring distinctive finishes and attractive urban landscaping.
