Engineer Sherif El Sherbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, inaugurated the 9th edition of the Builders of Egypt Forum, the largest event in the construction and building sector. The event saw the participation of Arab and African delegations and a broad ministerial presence. The forum aims to explore strategies for exporting Egypt’s construction and complementary industries to regional countries and discuss real estate development companies’ plans to expand into international markets.
State’s Capability to Share Its Modern Experience
In a speech delivered on behalf of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister El Sherbiny emphasized Egypt’s commitment to deepening economic cooperation within the region. He highlighted the efforts Egypt has made over the past years to establish its presence in Arab and African markets, supporting external nations in their developmental and urbanization efforts, while capitalizing on local resources and modern economic models.
Support for Egyptian Companies
The Minister stressed that the Ministry of Housing is fully committed to supporting Egyptian companies looking to expand internationally. He pointed out that Egyptian contractors are already making a significant impact in several countries, particularly in Africa, where they have achieved a strong presence through their various projects.
He further emphasized that Egypt’s focus on urban development aligns with its Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the quality of life for citizens and improve living standards, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Egypt’s Leadership in Urban Development
Minister El Sherbiny highlighted that under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, urban development has become a national priority, playing a key role in economic and urban growth, while encouraging both local and foreign investment.
Ahead of the upcoming World Urban Forum, to be held in Cairo from November 4-8, the Ministry of Housing will host the African Ministerial Meeting to exchange expertise and showcase Egypt’s urban development experience. The Minister urged all Egyptian companies in the urban development sector to participate in this important event.
In his closing remarks, Minister Sherif El Sherbiny extended his gratitude to the African Union of Construction Contractors for their role in organizing this significant forum.
