Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the progress of thousands of housing units under the presidential initiative Housing for All Egyptians in several new cities, including New Obour, New Suez, New Minya, 15th of May City, and 6th of October City. This was done through inspection tours and project-related reports.
The Minister of Housing emphasized the importance of delivering housing units to citizens on the agreed timelines and making new units available for reservation. He also stressed the necessity of implementing service projects in parallel with the construction of residential units. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of achieving the highest quality standards in construction and interior and exterior finishes as part of the accelerated execution of national projects in various new cities.
In this context, Dr. Engineer Ahmed Ismail Gaber, Head of the New Obour City Authority, accompanied by authority officials, conducted an inspection tour of the presidential initiative’s housing buildings. The purpose was to monitor work progress and assess adherence to scheduled timelines and construction quality.
During the tour, the Head of the New Obour City Authority inspected the Housing for All Egyptians units in districts 15 and 16, consisting of 638 buildings housing 15,312 residential units. He also reviewed infrastructure works related to the project, including utility networks, roads, interlock pavement installation, curb construction, and landscaping coordination between buildings.
The Head of the Authority visited a primary education school, emphasizing the importance of completing the school, sports fields, and other service projects as quickly as possible. He also stressed the need to expedite the implementation of service projects such as healthcare centers to meet the needs of new residents.
Furthermore, the Head of the New Obour City Authority toured the Green Housing Project in District 13, which includes 180 buildings with 3,924 residential units. This project aims to provide sustainable and environmentally friendly housing units within the Housing for All Egyptians initiative, following the latest green building standards. During the tour, the construction progress and interior and exterior finishes of the buildings were monitored, emphasizing adhering to the scheduled delivery timelines while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Engineer Asmaa Makhlouf, Head of the New Suez City Authority, conducted an inspection tour to monitor the progress of 86 residential buildings containing 2,064 housing units, each with an area of 90 square meters. The visit also included a primary education school with 33 classrooms and a nursery, and the natural gas connection works in cooperation with Taqa company. Additionally, she inspected a commercial market that consists of eight retail shops.
The Head of the Authority highlighted the importance of adhering to the set schedule and closely monitoring the interior and exterior finishing works to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
