Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities and Chairman of the Board of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), held an extensive meeting with the Authority’s deputies and their assistants to review progress across various sectors and the new city authorities, as well as to discuss future plans of action.
At the start of the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of achieving objectives related to resource optimization. He highlighted the need for each sector of the Authority to develop a specific action plan for the coming period, with a focus on accelerating project implementation rates and evaluating both ongoing efforts and strategic plans to enhance performance at all work sites.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the implementation status of the Diarna and Zelal projects. He also discussed the execution progress of several other developments in the new cities, particularly the maintenance and operational activities for completed projects.
In this context, the Minister directed that a comprehensive assessment be conducted across all cities to evaluate the performance of operations and maintenance companies, aiming to ensure that tangible services are being delivered to residents of these projects. He also requested follow-ups with executing companies regarding the delivery status of housing units to applicants and called for a complete report on the matter.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny further instructed the renewal and replacement of signs and informational boards in the new cities. He requested an inventory of areas in need of landscaping and a timeline for their execution. Moreover, he stressed the importance of finalizing ongoing projects and conducting a comprehensive survey of NUCA-owned lands to maximize resources and ensure sustainable development. Priority should be given to key projects and enhancing appeal factors to better serve the residents of the new urban communities.
