Minister of Housing Forms Committee to Address Challenges in New Cities

Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has directed the formation of a committee led by the Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for the Development and City Improvement Sector, along with the participation of city council heads and city authorities, to address challenges faced by each city and work on solutions. The committee will share experiences and best practices across cities and provide a monthly report to the minister. Regular meetings with city councils will be held to monitor the progress of development efforts.

The minister emphasized the crucial role of city councils as key partners in the development of new cities, ensuring that the Ministry of Housing provides full support to these councils as they work to meet the aspirations of the residents. Additionally, El-Sherbiny stressed the importance of enhancing the financial resources of new cities, including those of the councils, through innovative and non-traditional solutions to ensure sustainable development.

During a comprehensive meeting with city authorities and council heads, the minister discussed ways to strengthen cooperation to better serve the citizens in these urban areas. He also highlighted the need for continuous communication with residents and active collaboration between the councils and government agencies to meet the needs of the community effectively.
