Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities and Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), held an extensive meeting with the deputies and assistant deputies of the Authority to review the progress of work across various sectors and new city authorities, as well as to discuss future work plans.
At the beginning of the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of achieving goals related to maximizing resources. He pointed out the need for each sector of the Authority to develop a work plan for the coming period. He also called for intensified efforts to accelerate project implementation rates and to evaluate operations and plans to enhance on-site performance.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the implementation status of the “Diarna” and “Zilal” projects. He also discussed the progress of several other projects in the new cities, including maintenance and operational work, particularly for projects that have already been completed.
The Minister instructed the preparation of a comprehensive report on the performance of all maintenance and operations companies in the cities to ensure quality service delivery to citizens. He also requested follow-up on the handover of units to beneficiaries and the preparation of a report within a week on the status of operations and maintenance, along with a timeline to finalize any remaining work.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny also stressed the need to replace and renew directional and informational signage in the new cities and to inventory the areas that require landscaping and coordination. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the importance of completing ongoing projects and surveying NUCA’s land assets to maximize resources and ensure sustainable development, with a focus on priority projects to increase occupancy and housing rates.
