Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, met with Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, to discuss the progress of several projects implemented by the ministry in cooperation with the Cairo Governorate.
Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized that the Ministry of Housing, in collaboration with the Cairo Governorate, has been working to develop unsafe areas within the governorate, including the Maspero Triangle Development Project. According to a ministry statement, he also noted that projects are underway to revive Khedivial Cairo as part of the state’s plan to restore Historic Cairo and enhance its cultural and historical role.
During the meeting, the latest updates on the Maspero Triangle Development Project were reviewed, with discussions focusing on various project-related topics aimed at accelerating execution rates. Additionally, the progress of the Nile-facing tower projects in the area was addressed.
The meeting also covered the details of the Azbakeya Park restoration project and the surrounding area, emphasizing the benefit of preserving the area’s unique architectural character. The project aims to revitalize the park, restore the urban beauty of Cairo’s historic districts, and enhance its tourism significance. Furthermore, the Fustat Hills Gardens Project was reviewed. This project is considered a key initiative that provides a green space in the capital and includes heritage, recreational, and cultural zones, offering a distinctive tourism experience.
