Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held an extensive meeting with officials from the New Urban Communities Authority to follow up on the progress of work within the authority and its affiliated agencies. He emphasized the importance of this regular meeting in boosting achievement rates.
In a statement, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny indicated that the purpose of the meeting is to track the progress of work within the authority to ensure positive outcomes for the projects being implemented. He stressed the need for continuous follow-up on all projects to ensure their swift completion.
The Minister also directed the need to intensify oversight of city agencies in the upcoming period, as well as across various sectors, to monitor all activities related to ongoing projects and follow up on their implementation status, with a strong focus on resolving issues promptly.
He recommended that the Deputy Heads, Assistant Deputies of the Authority, and their working teams increase their field visits to project sites to ensure the acceleration of work pace and the completion of projects within the designated timelines.
The Minister continued to monitor the latest updates regarding the recently announced housing units offering, aiming to review the details of the launch and ensure it is made available on schedule. He instructed the development of a comprehensive maintenance plan, in addition to preparing a strategy aligned with the cooperation protocol signed with the “Mostaqbal Misr” (Future of Egypt) Authority to activate the role of the company expected to be established.
The Minister also requested an evaluation of the performance of the companies responsible for the maintenance, management, and operation of utilities in new cities and the preparation of comprehensive reports on projects in each sector. He placed special focus on the projects in New Suez City and the new road project that has been instructed to be constructed. He emphasized the importance of enhancing the Authority’s revenues and conducting a comprehensive survey of unused lands across all new cities to maximize their utilization.
Finally, the Minister of Housing stressed the need to implement the directives of the political leadership by increasing reliance on local products in project implementation and encouraging the local manufacturing of components.
