Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the progress of phase two projects in New Mansoura City. These projects include the construction of a large number of residential buildings under the “Sakan Misr” and “JANNA” housing programs, alongside infrastructure development and the provision of essential services.
The minister stressed the importance of accelerating the pace of work during the second phase, with continuous on-site supervision to overcome any challenges during implementation. He highlighted that New Mansoura is one of the fourth-generation cities in the Delta region, offering a wide variety of housing units to accommodate different income levels. The city also features open beaches, recreational facilities for Egyptian families, in addition to the “Ahl Misr Corniche,” central parks, and public celebration spaces.
The minister added that the second phase includes the construction of 44 buildings under the Sakan Misr project and 224 buildings under the JANNA project, in parallel with the ongoing development of utilities and service projects.
On another note, Engineer Ahmed Hammam, Head of the New Mansoura City Authority, along with other officials, inspected the ongoing projects. These include infrastructure and residential buildings, with a strong emphasis on adhering to the specified timelines to ensure completion within the expected schedule.

Hammam pointed out that these projects aim to strengthen the infrastructure system and enhance the quality of services provided to citizens. Current works include sewage and stormwater drainage networks stretching 1,634 meters, in addition to initial grading works for roads and the design of electricity networks covering medium and low voltage systems as well as street lighting. Telecommunications networks are also being designed and executed, while natural gas network designs are being prepared ahead of implementation.
As part of the utilities projects, a water tank with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters is being built within the water desalination plant, along with extensions of its intake pipelines. Meanwhile, service projects under phase two include the development of the tourist promenade along the corniche, a church building, a police station, a fire station and its facilities, as well as additional services under assignment such as an ambulance point, a basic education school, and a children’s nursery.
