Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the executive status and ongoing progress of several “Diarna” middle-income housing projects across six new cities. These projects come in implementation of directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to provide suitable housing for various segments of citizens.
During meetings and field inspections, the Minister examined performance reports for the “Diarna” project in cities including New Obour, New Assiut, 10th of Ramadan, New Damietta, New Sohag, and New October.
He also discussed the progress achieved in construction stages and completion rates, stressing the need to accelerate work while adhering to the specific timeline for finalizing the projects. He emphasized the importance of continuous on-site monitoring to ensure fast execution and compliance with high-quality standards in construction and overall appearance.

El-Sherbiny noted that the “Diarna” middle-income housing project introduces new unit designs offered for the first time by the Ministry of Housing, with areas reaching up to 153 square meters and innovative architectural layouts designed to provide comfort for beneficiaries. He explained that the project is part of the first phase of the comprehensive offering that includes 400,000 diverse housing units and will also be included in the second phase.
In a related context, officials from the New Obour City Authority carried out an inspection tour of the “Diarna” middle-income housing project in Neighborhood 37 within the 2,600-acre area. The project includes 99 buildings providing a total of 2,574 residential units and comes within efforts to achieve fair distribution of housing across various income levels, ensuring urban equity in new cities.
Officials from the New Assiut City Authority also followed up on the first phase of constructing the “Diarna” buildings in the Northwestern Expansion Zone. They examined completion percentages and implementation rates to ensure smooth progress and the achievement of the project’s intended goals.
