Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the progress of several housing and service projects in New Obour City. These projects include residential units allocated for low-income citizens, environmentally friendly green housing, as well as schools, commercial markets, sports fields, health units, youth centers, and various essential service facilities. The review was based on official reports and site inspection tours.
The Minister emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified timelines to complete the housing projects and deliver the units to their rightful beneficiaries. He also stressed intensifying efforts in the implementation of utility and service projects to ensure the needs of new residents in the city are adequately met.
As part of the ongoing efforts to monitor developmental projects, Dr. Eng. Ahmed Ismail, Head of the City Authority, along with a team of officials, conducted a field tour to assess the progress of several housing initiatives currently underway. The tour included a visit to the “Al-Nozha Apartments” project, part of the Tenth Announcement units in the 2600-acre area. This project consists of 66 buildings, providing approximately 1,584 residential units.
Officials also inspected Phase Six of the Social Housing Project, which includes 125 residential buildings totaling around 3,000 units. During the visit, they reviewed the progress of both structural and finishing works, emphasizing the urgency of completing the project swiftly while strictly adhering to the required quality standards.
The tour further covered the fifth phase of the Social Housing Project in District 16 of the city, which comprises 433 residential buildings with a total of 10,392 units. Progress was monitored on various services within the district, including roadworks, pavement, and site landscaping. These efforts aim to create a fully integrated urban environment worthy of the project’s beneficiaries.
Housing officials continued to oversee the execution of a range of public service projects that will benefit residents of the district. These include a commercial market, a five-a-side football field, an integrated school, a health unit, and a youth center. The officials reiterated the importance of accelerating the implementation of these vital service projects to ensure all essential life components are available within the district, thereby supporting community stability as the housing units are handed over.
