Engineer Sherif El Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, along with Dr. Mohamed Hany Ghoneim, Governor of Beni Suef, followed up on the progress of developmental projects in New Beni Suef City. The visit was attended by officials from the ministry and the governorate. During the inspection, Engineer Ahmed Abdel Gaber, Head of the City Authority, presented an overview of the investments, which have reached approximately EGP 4.675 billion as of June 2025. These investments span various sectors, including housing, water, sanitation, roads, electricity, telecommunications, and agriculture. He noted that the volume of investments has doubled since 2014 compared to the period before.
The Minister of Housing and the Governor of Beni Suef reviewed the implementation of housing units under the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, which includes 84 buildings with 2,016 units for low-income citizens and 6 buildings with 144 units for middle-income residents. They also followed up on the “Diarna” project, which consists of 10 buildings and 260 residential units.
Additionally, the visit covered key infrastructure projects such as potable water, wastewater, roads, and electricity. Minister Sherif El Sherbiny instructed intensified field monitoring of these projects and the establishment of detailed timelines for utility works. He also emphasized the importance of capitalizing on available investment opportunities and directed the preparation of a comprehensive report on them.
