Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, arrived in Gharbia Governorate to follow up on the progress of drinking water and sanitation projects under the presidential initiative Decent Life, which aims to develop villages across rural Egypt. Several entities affiliated with the Ministry of Housing are supervising these projects. He was received by Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, Governor of Gharbia, at the governorate headquarters in the presence of officials from both the ministry and the governorate.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Gharbia for the warm reception and the ongoing cooperation on the ministry’s work files. He affirmed that the Decent Life projects occupy a prominent place among the priorities of the Ministry of Housing, given their strategic role in improving quality of life and meeting the basic needs of citizens.
The minister pointed out that his visit to Gharbia aims to follow up on the projects currently being implemented by the Ministry of Housing, whether in the field of drinking water and sanitation or housing projects. He explained that the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater and the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage are carrying out many of these projects, which he will inspect during this tour. He stressed the importance of overcoming any obstacles that might hinder progress, emphasizing the ministry’s readiness to provide full support to the people of the governorate as part of its mandate.

For his part, the Governor of Gharbia welcomed the Minister of Housing, noting that the visit reflects the state’s strong interest in Gharbia, particularly in the Zefta district, which is witnessing the largest development intervention under the national Decent Life initiative. The governor stressed that drinking water and sanitation projects are among the state’s top priorities due to their direct connection to citizens’ daily lives. He affirmed the governorate’s commitment to continuous monitoring to ensure these projects are completed to the highest quality standards.
Major General Ashraf El-Gendy highlighted that the cooperation between the governorate and the Ministry of Housing is yielding tangible results on the ground. He stressed that the ongoing works reflect the scale of efforts being exerted to provide comprehensive services that meet the needs of Gharbia’s residents.
