Minister of Housing Announces Launch of Tenth Phase of “Beit El Watan” Project for Egyptians Abroad
Engineer Sherif El-Sharbeni, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has announced the launch of the tenth supplementary phase of the “Beit El Watan” project for Egyptians living abroad. This phase will feature 1,450 residential units located in prime areas across several cities, including New Cairo, 6th of October City, New Damietta, October Gardens, Sadat City, and New Minya.
El-Sharbeni emphasized that this new phase reflects the ministry’s commitment to providing as many opportunities as possible for Egyptians abroad to secure suitable housing in their home country. This effort follows the significant success of the project since its inception in 2012.
Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for Planning and Projects and advisor to the Minister, clarified that priority in the allocation of units will be given to individuals who have previously sent complete remittances but did not benefit from them in the tenth phase. The allocation will be based on the priority of transfers listed by the Central Bank of Egypt. Each applicant will be allocated one unit, with subsequent registrations for those who have multiple transfers, according to the order of arrival of transfers at the Central Bank.
Furthermore, individuals who made transfers during the tenth phase will be allowed to complete the down payment for a new unit if needed, provided it is for a single unit. The completion amount will be added according to the priority of the original transfer. Requests for the cancellation of previously confirmed reservations will not be accepted, nor will there be any transfer of amounts between applicants or combining excess amounts from different transfers. Additionally, changes to any confirmed reservations on the site will not be permitted.
