Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbini and Sharqia Governor Hazem El-Ashmouni inspected the “Ragheb” wastewater treatment plant in Abu Kabir, which operates with a capacity of 20,000 m³/day. The project is funded by the World Bank to improve sanitation services. The minister emphasized the state’s expansion in sanitation projects, particularly in rural areas, while stressing the need to accelerate the completion of expansions and household connections to ensure maximum benefit.
The governor highlighted the state’s focus on development and service projects, pointing out the governorate’s efforts to establish new plants that strengthen infrastructure and achieve sustainable development in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030. The tour included an inspection of the plant’s components, which serve several villages in Abu Kabir, along with an explanation of the surface aeration treatment system and expansions with a total capacity of 30,000 cubic meters per day.
The inspection was attended by officials from the Ministry of Housing, relevant authorities, the governorate, and executing companies.
