Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, and Major General Tarek Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, conducted an inspection tour of the expansion works at the Belqas Drinking Water Station. The visit was attended by officials from the Ministry and the Governorate. Covering an area of 5,000 square meters, the expansion project aims to increase the station’s capacity to 34,000 cubic meters per day, serving the drinking water needs of approximately 40,000 beneficiaries in Belqas and neighboring villages. The expansion includes purification units and associated facilities such as chlorine, electricity, and chemical buildings.
During the visit, the Minister and the Governor reviewed the details of the expansion project, including the progress of work and the stages of water purification. The Minister emphasized the need to complete the remaining works and begin trial operations as soon as possible, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to supporting water and sanitation projects. For his part, Major General Tarek Marzouk expressed his appreciation for the Ministry’s efforts, noting that the project would significantly enhance the drinking water network and meet the needs of citizens, particularly in rural areas. The inspection tour was also attended by representatives from companies involved in water and sanitation projects.
