Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, announced the implementation of 2,532 new housing units as part of the presidential initiative Housing for All Egyptians in New Minya City. The project also includes infrastructure developments and road maintenance. During his follow-up project visit, the minister emphasized the importance of adhering to specifications and project timelines.
Engineer Ahmed Mostafa Mohamed, Head of the New Minya City Authority, inspected the ongoing construction work, highlighting the development of 27 buildings containing 648 units (90 m² each), five buildings with 180 units (75 m² each), and 71 buildings with 1,704 units across two phases.
The head of the New Minya City Authority also monitored the expansion of Sewage Treatment Plant No. 1, stressing the need to accelerate work on generators, fencing, and the discharge line to ensure completion within the set deadlines. Additionally, he inspected the sewage treatment plant to ensure regular maintenance, emphasizing the need for diesel fuel availability to keep the plant running in case of power outages.
The city’s treatment plant operated with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day in its first phase, and its treated water was used to irrigate green spaces. Furthermore, the head of the authority inspected the laboratory at the treatment plant to verify that the necessary water quality analyses were being conducted.
In addition, he supervised road maintenance and modifications, including the construction of speed bumps and pavement improvements in the Second District and the Distinguished District to enhance infrastructure near the conference hall.
