Engineer Shereif El Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, made a surprise visit today to the New Cairo City Authority to oversee operations across various departments and the citizen service technology center. He was accompanied by Engineer Amin Ghonaim, Deputy Head of the New Urban Communities Authority for Development and City Development, and Dr. Hassan Al-Shorbagy, Deputy Head of the Authority for Real Estate and Commercial Affairs.
The minister’s inspection began at the citizen service technology center, where he engaged with several citizens, gathering their feedback on service quality and addressing complaints. He instructed city officials to promptly resolve issues in line with established regulations.
Minister El Sherbiny then issued a series of directives aimed at enhancing services for citizens and investors. He called for improvements in managing entry and exit flows at the technology center, stationing security personnel for orderly movement, increasing waiting area seating, and posting clear guidance signs to help visitors locate various services within the authority.
Additionally, the minister emphasized special provisions for elderly citizens, including a dedicated service window and separation between customers and staff. He mandated that all citizen services be handled exclusively through the technology center, while investor services should be provided in a designated, high-standard area. Coordination with relevant entities was also advised to expand government services available at the city authority.
Following his inspection of the technology center, Minister El Sherbiny reviewed the progress of a water lift station upgrade in New Cairo, a project he previously initiated to improve the city’s water infrastructure.
