Meeting with Egyptian Real Estate Platform Officials to Explore Cooperation Opportunities

Yesterday evening, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, met with Ahmed El-Batrawy, founder of the Egyptian Real Estate Platform, and his team to discuss potential collaboration opportunities. Officials from the ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny listened to a comprehensive presentation on the Egyptian Real Estate Platform’s operational mechanism. The presentation also covered similar global experiences, the platform’s intended objectives, and the expected impact on Egypt’s real estate sector.

The discussion further addressed the methods employed by the Ministry of Housing in offering real estate products, the target audience for these offerings, and the classifications of stakeholders in Egypt’s real estate market.

In this context, the Minister of Housing emphasized the importance of considering the unique characteristics of Egypt’s urban development experience and real estate market. He stressed the necessity of establishing a clear vision and specific objectives that could be implemented through direct collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and in coordination with relevant authorities.

The Minister reaffirmed his full support for the Egyptian Real Estate Platform and similar entities, aiming to establish a clear framework for exporting Egyptian real estate and enhancing governance within the real estate sector. He also expressed the ministry’s commitment to devising new and constructive plans to attract and encourage foreign investment in Egypt through real estate exports or domestic marketing.

For his part, Ahmed El-Batrawy expressed his delight at the meeting, noting that the Egyptian Real Estate Platform aims to regulate the listing and exchange of real estate products while accelerating information flow in the real estate market regarding Egyptian properties. Additionally, the platform seeks to develop a vision for improving performance in the real estate sector, incorporating training initiatives. It also functions as an informational reference and a comprehensive database designed to create a centralized real estate market that facilitates property transactions for citizens.
