Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing Fund, stated that the “Housing for All Egyptians” program has witnessed significant developments since its launch in 2014, with approximately 2.174 million applicants. During a press conference for the handover of housing unit contracts, she mentioned that the latest announcement of the program recorded 571,000 applicants, surpassing previous figures. She also pointed out that the number of housing units currently under construction in new cities has reached 599,000, with 423,868 units already completed. Additionally, she confirmed that the city of the 10th of Ramadan is one of the most significant new cities in the project, with 81,736 units implemented.
She emphasized the importance of expanding green housing initiatives. In addition to 2,232 units designated for middle-income housing, 10,740 housing units are being implemented within the fifth and sixth phases of the project. The allocation of the remaining units will continue according to different execution phases.
Abdel Hamid also clarified that applicants for the “Housing for All Egyptians 5” units will be contacted next Tuesday. She highlighted that this program has proven its credibility on the ground, as most young people have realized that it meets all their aspirations regarding financial conditions and access to housing units.
Furthermore, she noted that each applicant will receive a message next Tuesday clarifying their application status. A grievance period will also be opened to allow applicants to appeal and modify their status based on submitted documents.
