Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly inspected the development works in the Darb Al-Labbana area as part of his tour of projects aimed at revitalizing Historic Cairo. The project aims to preserve the cultural character of the historic urban fabric.
During the tour, he listened to a briefing from Eng. Khaled Siddiq, Head of the Urban Development Fund, who explained that the project includes restoring 29 buildings in line with the architectural style, establishing seven service and entertainment facilities, preserving the original façades of the buildings, and resettling residents after the completion of finishing works.

The project also includes reviving Al-Mahmoudiya Garden, covering an area of 5,150 square meters, and providing opportunities for traditional handicrafts in collaboration with the Azza Fahmy Foundation to establish a cultural center for teaching crafts.
Madbouly praised the ongoing works, directing that the project be completed quickly and that the units—whether hotel or commercial—be offered as soon as possible. He stressed that the area will become a prominent tourist destination distinguished by its cultural and historical identity.
