Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and New Urban Communities, has announced a plan to offer 261,000 housing units for middle-income citizens in the coming period, with this initiative continuing until April 2026. This announcement was made during a press conference held by the ministry today, where he outlined the timeline for these housing projects.
First Phase in April 2025: 35,000 New Housing Units
The Minister of Housing confirmed that the first phase of the plan will begin in April 2025, featuring 35,000 housing units designated for middle-income citizens. He explained that these units would be distributed across various locations to meet the needs of citizens seeking suitable housing.
Housing and Development Bank Responsible for the Housing Unit Offerings
El-Sherbiny pointed out that the Housing and Development Bank will be responsible for launching these housing units after upgrading the designated sites. He added that these projects align with the political leadership’s directives to expand the availability of housing units for middle-income groups in society.
New Expansions in the Egyptian Housing Market
