Eng. Khaled Sorour, Assistant Vice Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for Development and Construction, and Eng. Ahmed Shawky, Assistant Vice Chairman for Planning and Projects, conducted an inspection tour of ongoing projects in New Damietta City. They were accompanied by Eng. Ashraf Fathy, Head of the City Authority, along with other officials, as part of directives from Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, to ensure regular oversight of projects and development axes in new cities.
At the start of the tour, housing officials reviewed the general status of cleanliness, landscaping, maintenance, beautification works, and the management of encroachments. They also evaluated the quality of services provided by the city authority to residents in various neighborhoods.
The visit included a detailed inspection of the Central Park, which spans 55 acres and serves as a key recreational hub for residents of New Damietta City and nearby governorates within the Delta region.
Officials also visited the main waste collection site, located on 15 acres south of the industrial zone. Addressing waste disposal at this site remains a critical challenge in maintaining a clean environment and upholding the city’s aesthetic appeal. Additionally, they assessed the ongoing development in the beachfront and chalet areas, particularly during the second phase of enhancements.
Eng. Khaled Sorour emphasized NUCA’s commitment to monitoring operational and development progress across all sectors, removing obstacles, and ensuring the timely completion of projects. This aligns with the authority’s goal to sustain development in new cities, provide high-quality services, and enhance the living standards of citizens.
Eng. Ashraf Fathy highlighted the city authority’s dedication to executing projects with the highest quality, adhering to specifications and timelines. He also noted efforts to increase the pace of work across all sectors, including development, cleanliness, landscaping, and maintenance, to ensure the city retains its modern and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
