Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, concluded his tour in the New Administrative Capital with an inspection of the Central Business District (CBD) and the Fifth Residential District – New Garden City. He was accompanied during the tour by officials from the ministry and representatives of the executing companies.
The tour included a visit to the entrance of the Iconic Tower, where the Minister instructed that site coordination works be completed. He also went up to the 41st floor to inspect a hotel unit and follow up on the lighting works on the Key of Life Bridge. He then inspected the hotel entrance and the ongoing construction of hotel units.
The Central Business District features 10 mixed-use towers covering a total area of 806,000 square meters, in addition to 5 residential towers comprising 1,700 residential units with a total area of 102,000 square meters.
The district includes the Iconic Tower, the tallest in Africa, standing at approximately 400 meters. The tower houses hotel, commercial, and administrative functions. It includes a world-class hotel opening for the first time in Egypt and Africa, as well as hotel and administrative units and a commercial area. The tower consists of 40 floors dedicated to offices, 10 floors for hotel apartments (52 apartments), and 30 floors for the hotel itself (183 rooms), with a total built-up area of 266,000 square meters.
The Minister of Housing also inspected the Fifth Residential District – New Garden City, which spans 885 acres and is inspired by classic French architecture. The project includes 385 residential buildings (approximately 21,494 units), 513 commercial units, and 456 villas, along with educational, recreational, commercial, sports, and religious services.
