Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, the Minister of Endowments, inaugurated Al Mansour Mosque in the Badya area of New October City on Friday, March 7, 2025. The inauguration was attended by several prominent figures, including Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, the Minister of Housing, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President of the Republic, the Governor of Giza, as well as several former ministers and local officials.
During the event, Dr. Ali Gomaa, a Council of Senior Scholars member, delivered the Friday sermon as part of a discussion titled Enhancing Identity and Its Role in Civilization Building. He emphasized the significance of the holy month of Ramadan in shaping Islamic identity, particularly among Egyptians, who welcome it with joy. He also highlighted the spiritual rewards of Ramadan, citing a hadith of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ regarding the multiplied rewards of good deeds during this sacred time.
The sermon underscored the importance of building and maintaining mosques, noting their historical role as centers of knowledge, civilization, and religious guidance. Dr. Ali Gomaa referenced a hadith of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that highlights the great virtue of constructing mosques. Concluding his sermon, he prayed for God’s acceptance of good deeds, for the safety and prosperity of Egypt and its people, and the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque, affirming that the construction and upkeep of houses of worship are among the most extraordinary acts of devotion.
