The Ministry of Housing has decided to open the door for tenants under the Old Rent Law to submit their documents through the online platform or postal offices. The aim is to record the number of eligible tenants and work on providing the necessary housing units before the legal deadline for eviction specified in the law.

Start of Applications: Receiving applications from eligible tenants, according to the stipulated conditions and procedures, to obtain alternative housing units as per Article (8) of the law regulating the relationship between landlords and tenants. The application process will begin on October 1.

Submission Channels: Applications can be submitted either through the online platform or via postal offices spread across the country, within a set period of three months.

Electronic Platform: This platform will allow citizens to submit applications and complete all the necessary procedures to obtain alternative housing units.

Ministerial Meeting: The Minister of Housing held a meeting to discuss the arrangements required to provide alternative housing units through the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Support Fund.

Dedicated Processing Team: A specialized team will be assigned to receive and process applications submitted via the online platform and postal offices for three months starting October 1.

Database Creation: A database will be prepared to record all applicants and classify them according to priority, identifying the units required for eligible categories before the six-year transition period stipulated by law expires.

Application Procedure Will Include the Following Steps:

Creating an online account to track the status of the application.

Providing the required documents and completing any missing ones when necessary.

Entering all data according to the designated electronic form and selecting the appropriate category.
For Residential Units:

Applications can be submitted by the original tenant named in the rental contract, the spouse to whom the contract was extended before the implementation of the law, or any tenant to whom the rental contract was legally transferred.
For Non-Residential Units:

Applications can be submitted by the original tenant or anyone to whom the contract has been extended.
The Application Must Include:

The property address according to its geographical location.

The desired allocation system (subsidized rent, rent-to-own, or ownership through mortgage financing).

Selection of the preferred geographical area for the alternative housing units.
