Engineer Amr Khattab, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing, has unveiled the details of a new housing offer under the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians 7,” confirming that the application process officially opened on July 15.
In a phone interview, Khattab clarified that the current announcement represents the second offering within the seventh phase of the initiative. He emphasized that the primary focus is on providing residential units for low- and middle-income citizens.
He explained that the offering includes over 113,112 residential units of various sizes ranging from 75 to 90 square meters. Of these, 99,000 units are being offered for the first time, while 13,000 units are being re-offered from previous announcements.
Regarding the application criteria, Khattab stated that one of the key conditions is that applicants must not have previously benefited from government-supported housing or own any subsidized units. This ensures that the government subsidy is directed to those truly in need. He noted that the state covers up to 60% of the unit cost, significantly enhancing affordability for eligible citizens.
Khattab also highlighted that the current offering has seen strong public interest since its launch, with more than 60,000 citizens purchasing the terms and conditions booklets so far. He confirmed that the entire application process is conducted through an advanced digital platform, which simplifies procedures and ensures accurate applicant screening. Importantly, he added that any applicant who fails to meet the criteria will be unable to proceed with their application via the online system. The only step conducted outside the platform is the payment of the booking deposit, which is made at authorized postal offices.
