Engineer Amr Khattab, spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing, confirmed that the new offering of residential units comes in response to the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and aims to provide safe and affordable housing for citizens within the framework of the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians 7.”
In a phone interview on Cairo and the People TV channel, Amr Khattab explained that Dr. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, presented a report today to Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly regarding the implementation status of around 400,000 residential units distributed across most governorates of the Republic. This is considered the largest housing offering of its kind to date.
He clarified that the first phase of the offering includes 116,000 units, with booking set to begin on May 21. He noted that some of these units are ready for immediate delivery, while others are still under construction and are scheduled to be delivered within no more than 36 months.
He added that all details of the offering, including general and specific terms, will be included in the brochure that will be made available at the start of the booking process. He also explained that the brochure will list the governorates where ready-to-deliver units are available. The application conditions include monthly income and its sources, in addition to social and age status, with booking priority based on age group and marital status.
He further clarified that the down payment for units allocated to low-income citizens is EGP 50,000, while it reaches EGP 100,000 for middle-income individuals, depending on the type of unit and income level.
