The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities has clarified, through an instructional video, the steps required to apply for alternative units under the Old Rent Law.
Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, reviewed the stages of submitting applications to fill out the dedicated electronic form for receiving replacement housing. This service is intended for citizens covered by the Old Rent Law and aims to regulate the relationship between landlords and tenants. Applications are submitted via the Digital Egypt platform on digital.gov.eg, which was launched on October 11.
The minister emphasized the importance of providing all necessary facilities to simplify the application process for citizens. He also urged those wishing to benefit from the service to watch the instructional video that explains the steps of completing the electronic form, available through a link on the platform.
Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny pointed out that citizens facing technical issues during registration or while filling out the electronic form can receive technical support by contacting the customer service center of the Digital Egypt platform via the short number 15999.
The application steps through the Digital Egypt platform include creating an electronic account (if the applicant does not already have one), then selecting the “Replacement Housing” service from the platform’s homepage. After that, applicants proceed to choose the “Replacement Housing Application Form,” review the terms and conditions of the service, and accept them by clicking the approval button. Only then can they begin using the service by pressing the “Start Service” button.
