Engineer Sherif El Sherbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, met with Ni Hong, China’s Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, in Beijing to discuss enhancing future cooperation. The meeting was attended by Khaled Nazmy, Egypt’s Ambassador to Beijing, along with several officials from both ministries. The Chinese minister welcomed El Sherbiny and praised their previous meeting at the World Cities Day Conference in Alexandria, thanking the Egyptian minister for his warm hospitality.
During the meeting, Ni Hong affirmed that Egypt is considered one of the greatest Arab, African, and Islamic countries. He highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the two nations under the guidance of their respective leaderships and expressed his desire to strengthen collaboration between the housing ministries of Egypt and China, particularly in the fields of infrastructure and urban modernization. In return, Engineer Sherif El Sherbiny thanked his Chinese counterpart for the warm reception and expressed his pleasure in meeting him for the fourth time. He stressed the importance of expanding areas of mutual cooperation with China, in line with the directives of both presidents.
El Sherbiny emphasized the importance of boosting collaboration with China in the sectors under the Ministry of Housing. He noted that he had inspected projects by the Chinese company CSCEC in several cities. A meeting was held with the company’s chairman to follow up on developments in the New Administrative Capital and New Alamein City, with a focus on adhering to quality standards and project timelines. Opportunities for cooperation were also presented in three main areas: investment projects in new cities, including the industrial and tourism sectors, with a particular emphasis on positioning New Alamein City as a prime investment destination.
