Dr. Hassan El-Shorbagi, Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for Real Estate and Commercial Affairs, announced a 70% exemption on late payment penalties for outstanding installments related to residential, administrative, and professional units, as well as commercial shops and various types of land plots (residential, commercial, service, investment, industrial, and others). The exemption also applies to villas and coastal units developed by the authority. This relief is valid for one month from the announcement date, provided all outstanding dues are paid in full.
This decision follows the approval of the NUCA Board of Directors in its recent meeting, chaired by Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities. In response to customer requests, the move aims to facilitate the settlement of overdue financial obligations related to units, shops, land plots, and villas.
Dr. Hassan El-Shorbagi clarified that these facilities apply to the following cases:
- Allocated units and properties where ownership has already been granted.
- Canceled allocations due to non-payment, as long as the unit or land is still in the customer’s possession and has not been reclaimed by the relevant authority.
To benefit from this exemption, customers must comply with the following conditions:
- Adhering to the specified implementation timelines.
- Waiving any legal claims filed against NUCA or related authorities.
However, these facilities do not apply to:
- Lands are allocated through partnership agreements.
- Canceled and reclaimed lands that are now under the control of the relevant authority.
- Amounts due for completing advance payments.
