Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbiny met with a delegation of Egyptians living abroad to discuss the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to meet their needs and listen to their suggestions. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority.
The minister warmly welcomed the young Egyptian expatriates participating in the Sixth Expatriates Conference, reaffirming his commitment to supporting them through specialized Ministry initiatives. He highlighted the “Beit El Watan” program, which offers land plots and housing units in new cities to Egyptians living abroad. The aim is to strengthen their connection with their homeland and encourage investments that benefit both them and future generations.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny also announced the upcoming launch of the second phase of the “Your Home in Egypt” initiative in September 2025, which will include 3,000 residential, administrative, and commercial units tailored for Egyptians abroad. This follows the success of the first phase, which featured 5,055 units and offered special benefits such as discounts ranging from 3% to 10% and payment plans extending up to 10 years.
During the meeting, the delegation from the Egyptian-American community shared proposals for supporting Egypt’s urban renaissance and attracting both foreign and domestic investments. The Union of Egyptian Expatriate Youth also submitted requests, including the need for specialized training for Egyptian youth in construction and the availability of additional housing units suitable for middle-income families.
El-Sherbiny concluded the meeting by reaffirming his full support for Egyptians abroad, praising their role as Egypt’s permanent ambassadors and a vital line of defense for the nation internationally.
